Serious plagiarism must be considered at Faculty level.

How to check?
Plagiarism detection software called Turnitin to help them to identify instances of plagiarism.
There is a report which gives a percentage “similarity index” to other sources.  

How to avoid?
1. be familiar with different types of plagiarism and how to avoid it.  
2.Your school or department or tutor may provide you with specific guidance on referencing 
3.Access guidance on referencing at the library 
4.Attend training sessions on academic writing skills
