What I think happens at the end of the story is that the soldier isn't going to fall in love with Rose and i think he's probably going to leave to go somewhere else. What i think hoappend a the end of the story is that rose is going to finally let her feelings of him go away because she will probably learn the true meaning of what love is about and not just about getting married and she will love jonah as a big brother.
