One purpose of the United Nations is to keep worldwide peace. Another purpose of the United Nations is to develop friendly relationships across nations. I think these two purposes are mainly to prevent another War to occur. The second to last purpose listed on the website are to work together to improve the lives of poor people, conquer hunger and disease, and to "encourage respect for each other's right and freedoms". I think this is my favorite purpose because the world should all chip in and help others. This one also seems to be the one possibly working the least. The last purpose listed is to harmonize the actions of nations. I can also see 3 drawn people with labels; United States, France, and the United Nations. I notice that the United Nations is the only one attempting to lift the curtain, while the United States is saying, "You try it sister!". Why are the United States and France just standing there? Were they trying to lift the 'Iron Curtain' before the United Nations had a go? Based on what I see, I can assume that the United States and France are soon to be apart of the United Nations, if they aren't already. It looks as if they're all working together to try and raise the curtain. According to this website, https://www.history.com/topics/civil-rights-movement/naacp, the NAACP is doing things ranging from fighting for equality in jobs to protecting voting rights. Joining the NAACP costs about $30 for an adult membership. Doing so allows you to join a force of over 500,000 people working towards their goal of racial equality. It has been active for over 100 years now, officially starting on February 12th, 1909. It has been very effective in the past and the present. Later on though, Sir Paul McCartney addressed the crowd with the information that "Blackbird" was inspired by the Little Rock Nine. Once he admitted to the true inspiration of one of their greatest hits, the Beatles were caught in some backlash to civil rights and individuality. After doing research, I found out that the reason they wrote this song was to express freedom and liberation. After hearing that there were things called Green Books and that they were used to help Black people out, it made me feel content. Knowing that they were able to use each other as an anchor showed how well they worked as a community. They were like a big happy family, as the book states. I'm wondering if White people ever took advantage of the Green Books. Did they ever go and torment people that were listed in Green Books? I would hope not. That would be horrible. I think I'm going to watch the "Green Book" movie because it seems interesting. For example, with the Children's March, the police officers were sending vicious dogs at the children and spraying them with powerful hoses. The children responded with putting on bathing suits and playing in the water, dancing, and singing. Another example is when the police officers were placing children into larger trucks to be sent to jail. The children responded with lots of singing and happily chatting with one another.
