1. rafts were made of wood and there was an engine in the back filled with wet close water and things to help them stay alive. The raft was 90 miles away from florida.
2. More than 11 million ceries losted there life or became homlees because they got caught in the middle of the war
3. all of the characters were diffilcult because they were all different and the author wasn't born from any of those countries
Two things I found interesting was 
1. That refugee are people who have to leave there country because of persecution
2. That refugee didn't do nothing to no one but they went through alot like getting bombs dropped on  there head
