They have one to one peer counseling support. As well as ongoing sessions and training for both parents and teachers .They try to focus on outreach and public awareness. They have toy loan library with typical and adapted toys. Theys provide support group for parents both in Spanish and English. They need to create group activities where my child can build on making friendships and help socialize. Always remind my child to make eye contact when he makes request. Make lesson plans that add to facial expressions and discuss the importance of discussing boundaries. How to identify inference from others. Also my child needs visual and sensory support in the classroom.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>How does it feel to be a parent of your child?&nbsp;<br>I feel blessed to be the parent of Nathan he makes me learn everyday and it helps me advocate for others to be aware , tolerant and comprehensive regarding aspergers.&nbsp;<br>How&nbsp; is your child developmentally the same and different from others children at the various ages?&nbsp;<br>Nathan is the same because he can is kind, caring, loving and can do anything other kids his age do. He is different because he process in a different way. He needs reminders to make eye contact and to respects others boundaries. He wants to be friends with other kids but has a hard time communicating nad understanding social cues.&nbsp;<br>What professional do you deal?<br>What services are available to you and your child?&nbsp;<br>How did you find about services?<br>I am part of parent support groups where we have play dates. The regional center also referred me to agencies that have socializing programs where he can interacts with other kids his age. In the programs he participates in role plays, games and cooking. I also enroll him in soccer his typical peers support him in the team. Nathan is able to play his favorite sport soccer and helps him make friends. I also able to advocate and teach other parents on how I work with Nathan.&nbsp;</strong></div>]]></description>
