 This civilization later to be called Greece was formed in the time of 600 BC. They lived on a peninsula, land was surrounded by the sea. The Ancient Greek was mostly mountains but that was a good thing they got to herd sheep and goats. This helped them with farm land for good trades. The thick, rocky soil helped with multiple rivers  but also this made it have dry summers. The eastern end of the Mediterranean sea was a perfect place for trades. Most of Greece was three fourths of mountain and hills.

The geography of Greece influenced how the Greeks live life because the land was unforgiving and Greece is extremely mountainous. The soil in Greece was not very fertile so the Greeks had to farm a lot and trade to keep their civilization afloat. The Greeks had to trade by sea because it would take much longer to travel by land and use time that they couldn't afford to use. The Greeks had to sometimes build on mountains for tactical advantages so Greece's terrain wasn't all bad.

Ancient Greece's geography influenced its inhabitants to become sea traders as most of Greece is mountainous. Since most of Greece is mountainous it was hard to travel on land. The soil was thin and rocky and so it was infertile. Because of this, farming didn't go well in Greece. Water was easier to travel through and Greeks started making boats. All this led them to become sea traders and traveling through the sea for resources.

Some of the farmlands are on the peninsula of Attica. Attica had good natural harbors. The farming wasn't making enough for them and the land was hard to travel on, so they started to depend on the sea. They became sailors, fishers, and merchants.
