In BBM, Eugene makes fun of his own name. This is funny because he is letting us know that he is not "Italian' enough to play for the Yankees. He also makes fun of his mother making spaghetti with ketchup to show that he doesn't have a chance either way. It gives us a funny description in our minds.

In BBM, Eugene says “I kept dropping my napkin to get a good look at those virginal creamy-white legs. She was really deep in thought because she left herself unguarded a few times and I got to see halfway up her tights that led to the golden place of the Himalayas” I thought that was funny because of what he compared the specific body parts to and how descriptive he was about it like it was normal.

In BBM, Eugene says “I think they’re afraid that if they say it out loud, God would say ‘I HEARD THAT! YOU SAID THE DREADED DISEASE! JUST FOR THAT, I SMITE YOU DOWN WITH IT!’”... I find this funny because he whispered all the diseases he named. I mean, it wasn’t funny how he took it to lightly like he wasn’t concerned about it. But, he was saying how they don’t like to speak about it even though it’s reality. He’s basically saying how no one likes to hear the truth about it. And I think he’s saying how a lot of people don’t like to hear the truth about themselves or their loved ones. Like how people can’t cope with loss.

(He points bis finger down) JUST FOR THAT, I SMITE YOU DOWN WITH IT!!" This is funny because I like how he exaggerates about how it would be so bad to talk about someone's disease and how God will be so mad at you. People exaggerating about something is hilarious to me.

(They sit silent, eating) Everyone
had one eye on their plate and the other eye on Pop.
Except me. I sat opposite Nora." I believed this part to be funny because it felt like a murder mystery at the table with all the silence surrounding them by saying this it reminded me of my family and it was very funny when that happened at my dinner table.

I, Eugene M. Jerome, have
committed a mortal sin by lusting after my cousin Nora. I can tell you all this now because I'll be dead when you're reading it ... If I had my choice between a tryout with the Yankees and actually seeing her bare breasts for two and a half seconds, I would have some
serious thinking to do..."
I found this to be really funny because Eugene is talking to the audience as if he's done something really wrong and it gives me giggles since this was unexpected and completely not something I thought this character thought of.

Either I worshiped the ground he walked on or I hated him so much I wanted to kill him... I guess you know how I feel about him today.” This part was funny for the fact that he thinks of stuff like that and he’s very blunt about it too , the comedy allows us readers to learn more about the characters and who they really are.
