On April 15, 1920, there was a car full of Italian men spotted in the town of Braintree, Massachusetts. Shelley Neal, a witness, said that he had spotted them outside of his office as he was taking the money for payroll back to his office for the week. Another witness state, "We witnessed these men that none of us recognized driving around the streets recklessly." Later on in the day, the paymaster, Frederick Parmenter, and bodyguard, Alessandro Beradelli, stopped to pick up the payroll boxes and left the office. They were soon gunned down by two men who shot and killed them both. They stole the money and hopped back into the suspicious car witness had said they saw. Many people had witnessed the murder. The only thing left at the scene were bullet casings, and a felt cap one of the gunmen was wearing.

The investigation of the attack carried on for many months and Ferruccio Coacci was the main suspect. He had lied to immigration to delay his deportation after the murders had happened and then insisted on being deported again. They had also realized that a car, an Overland was involved in the murder. It was in the shop so police directed the car repairman to call the police if someone tried to pick it up. Multiple men showed up to pick up the car that night and they did call the police. However, after leaving their house, two men boarded a streetcar. When the streetcar arrived in Brockton, Sacco and Vanzetti were both arrested. They both had weapons, including the .38 Caliber Revolver that matched the one at the crime.

After months of trials and investigations, the pair have been found guilty. There is no word yet on their punishment or sentence date. There has been many talks of execution but many people are protesting against it and the court cannot agree.
