         <description><![CDATA[<p>Huguenots Protestantism was made illegal in 1534 CE causing conflict in the years of 1562 and 1598 resulting into a massacre. </p><p><br/></p><p>In 1598 CE they were granted freedom of worship, this makes for one of the first decrees for religious tolerance in France. But later revoked in 1685</p>]]></description>

His goal was to reform the church rather then break away. He was later told to take back his ideas but refused. He was forced into hiding where he translated the bible to German.</p>]]></description>
