I have learnt that teamwork is crucial and it is one of the most important things for dragon boating. Everybody has to paddle together to make the boat move fast.

I have also learnt that we can not give up easily. In dragon boating, if all of your teammates are lazy and give up easily, and everyone just relax, the boat will not move! Even if everyone is paddling, it is still not a time to rest as dragon boating is a team sport and requires EVERYONE TO ALWAYS BE WORKING. In life, when you do group work which is a very common thing in secondary school, if everyone decides to be like," Aiya, my Friend very pro one lah." Then nobody will work and the group will never succeed. Instead we should just #BeTheOne and work hard. Sooner or later, your efforts will pay off. When my teammates and I row together, we move very speedily and catch up with people easily. The coach we had helped us to achieve that. he said that we must all work together. He then made us count all in harmony and that to follow the first two people in the front of the boat's counting. he emphasized how to hold the paddle and how to row to get the maximum result of rowing the fastest. Under the coaching of our coach, we won first in the first race and second in the second race. I would like to tank my coach and I hope that this message gets to him.

2. I learnt to persevere from this experience. When I first started rowing the boat, it was a tedious experience. My muscles were hurting and I just felt like giving up. However, when I saw the others persevering and moving on, I decided not to give up and persevere instead.
3. I learnt that when we work as a team, we have to synchronise. If the front is slow, the middle is fast, the back isn't doing anything... we all became a 'caterpillar". We were not moving fast! So we had to synchronise with each other and shout out "1! 2! 3!..." in order to keep ourselves synchronised.

I really enjoyed the Dragon Boating experience. I had a whale of a time that day. I wish I can go dragon boating again!

I think that in order to succeed in Dragon Boating, you must have teamwork and cooperate with others especially your teammates. You would have to cooperate and balance the boat and row together as one. You would also need perseverance, as you would have to work hard and not give up when you face difficulties while rowing the boat. If you give up, you might also influence others and the boat will be going very slowly as there are only a few that are rowing the boat. I loved the splashing and the paddling is fun as it trains your muscles. My coach also played with us games like '7up'. I did not go for the dragon boating as I had other activities on that day. I did not think I missed out on much until my friends told me what fun they had. I regret not listening to my friends and not going for the dragon boating. If I have the chance to go for such an activity again, I would definately go. I think that in order to be the first in the dragon boating mini race, your entire team has to have perseverance and teamwork. If you do not have teamwork and keep giving up, you will see all the other boats speeding past you. It is the same concept when it comes to studying. If you do not work hard, you will find yourself at the back of the class. I hope that those who participated had a whale of fun!
