Hey yall! My name is Ashley Jackson and I lead our programming team here in the NCPT region. I am originally from Louisville, KY (woot woot!) but have called NC home for the past 6 years. I got engaged last fall and I’m getting married (ahh!) in late September of this year.

A leader that I respect and admire is Michelle Obama. Michelle is a BOSS and continues to show up for underrepresented communities. Michelle is an inspiration to myself and black girls everywhere, reminding us that the sky is the limit. She is classy, intelligent and for the people.

Hey there! My name is Rachel Wells and I lead our development team in the NCPT region. I'm originally from Winston-Salem, so the PT is my home and it is truly humbling to do this work here. I have two mischievous dogs, love to cook, and am due with my first baby on March 18 (so may or may not get to "meet" you all on this call!).

A leader that I truly admire is my principal from my first two years in teaching. He was (and is) a bold visionary and strove for excellence in everything he did - for our students, our teachers, and our school community. He was a true "multiplier" and challenged others around him to unlock their own strengths, catch their blindspots, to think innovatively/take risks, and to find joy in everything. I believe great leaders not only grow themselves, but also foster growth in others - he made this a priority.

Hey guys! My name is Victoria and I am originally from Boston. I am currently a senior at Temple University in Philadelphia as a criminal justice major. I can't wait to join the team and see what NC has to offer!

A leader that I admire is one of my mentors growing up who later became my supervisor. I admire and respect Alice because she instilled confidence in all of the girls she mentored, including me, and coached me to take the next steps to be a leader. Alice is the definition of a Feminist, as she strived to empower girls from a young age to have healthy self esteem and a sense of self. She always taught my peers and I to reach our potential no matter the obstacles we would face.

I am from Los Angeles California. I have two sisters, two dogs, 3 nephews, and one beautiful niece.

A Leader that I admire is definitely my mother. She overcame so many obstacles including being a single mother of two daughters by the age of 20 and losing her mother (my grandmother) to cancer soon after. She is the strongest woman that I know. She is a minister at Cross Word Christian church in Moreno Valley California. She put two children through college with the help of my stepfather. She just launched a new ministry called Transformed By Love ministries. She has a nonprofit supporting college students called Smiles for Students. And
she most recently began writing her first book! She is the epitome of a Super Woman, and I am so thankful to be able to call her my mother.

Hi everyone! My name is Mona Zahir, I am a senior political science major, sociology minor from Charlotte, NC. I attend Winston-Salem State University (Go Rams!!) where I currently am the Student Body President as well as Miss Black and Gold for the undergraduate for Alpha Phi Alpha Frat. Inc. I am a first generation American with two siblings. My parents come from Ethiopia and Sudan, planting a deep passion for travel and exploring other cultures!

A leader that I respect is my mentor and professor, Dr. Larry Little. He is one of the founding members of the Black Panther Party Chapter in Winston-Salem, N.C.. Dr. Little has always committed to the healing and uplifting of our community and confronted very dangerous situations for the good of others such as the first self-service ambulance program in the city. Not only courageous, Dr. Little is strong in his convictions and ran for public office while practicing law to free wrongful convictions such as Darryl Hunt. Dr. Little inspires me to always stay true to myself, serve selflessly, and know that without struggle there is no progress!
