Communication is one of the most important skills a species has. Communication has many attributes, including the ability to attract mates, find food, band together, and many others. One of the main attributes to communication is its use in groups. For example, a pack of wolves use communication when hunting, to mark their territory, and the famous howling. In addition, it can be used to establish a hierarchy within groups, for example, ants. Worker ants are all on the same level, however, the queen is definitely not on the same level This behavior has become an adaption because wolves, alone, are weak, but if they communicate and act as a pack, they can be one of the most fearsome creatures. They have developed hierarchies and have adapted to tell their group about potential dangers.

Communication also plays a huge role in humans. Because our communication is one of the most advanced of all species, we are able to dominate the natural world. Although it is detrimental to the environment, we have proved that communication is key. This is especially seen when finding mates. Finding a mate depends mostly on communication. For example, the six plumed bird must attract its mate with a dance and a show. The surroundings must be perfect. Moreover, communication in human relationships are key as well. A good looking mate can display poor communication skills.

In conclusion, communication is one of the most important social behaviors. It brings packs, flocks, herds, and groups together. It creates hierarchies within these groups and makes sure that food is fed to all of its members. It is very important in animals who take care of their young. Communication is incredibly important in every species and is the difference between more advanced and primitive species. Humans benefit immensely off of communication and these are just a few benefits there are. In my opinion, social behavior is one of the most important ways of survival. It is more helpful to be a part of a large pack than by yourself. As a statement in the lesson says, "Organisms in isolation do not do as well as organisms that are a part of group behaviors" For all living things, social behavior's benefits outrank the benefits of other characteristics. It is one of the most important skills to have in an ecosystem full of predators.

Source: https://www.softchalkcloud.com/scorecenter/lti/RDdzV0hZ4bqk1r
