Chapter 3 & Chapter 4

First, I understood the importance of "classroom time management." Secondly, I realized the key importance of "student engagement." Additionally, I gained a deeper understanding of "differentiated instruction" mentioned in the book. Every student is unique, with different learning styles and speeds. Excellent teachers need to pay attention to the needs of each student, providing personalized teaching strategies to ensure that every student can develop to the best of their ability within their capacity. Finally, continual learning and improvement are key to becoming an outstanding teacher. Teachers need to continuously explore new teaching methods and strategies to adapt to the ever-changing educational environment and meet the needs of students. At the same time, teachers also need to reflect on and summarize their teaching practices to achieve professional growth and improvement.

As is well known, a good class starts with planning. Specifically, effective unit planning is required: for a continuous period of time (such as six weeks), a series of goals are set, and each class achieves one to two goals. Unit planning is to ensure that today's class is built on the foundation of the previous day in an orderly manner, and to prepare for the next day's class. Each day's class should be able to achieve a series of goals, allowing students to ultimately master the knowledge.

After unit planning, classroom planning should be carried out immediately, including:

1. Adjust and improve the current goals based on the achievement of the previous day's goals.

2. Plan to conduct brief assessments every day to effectively grasp whether the goals have been achieved.

3. Plan individual or series of activities to ensure the achievement of goals.

Don't underestimate the importance of this method. A truly effective classroom standard ("Did this class achieve its goals?") allows you to continuously evaluate and improve strategies and methods, rather than blindly moving forward.

To summarize, good course planning means:

1. Promote from unit planning to curriculum planning.

2. Under the premise of clarifying the overall goals, determine the specific goals for each class.

3. Evaluate whether the goals have been effectively achieved through specific means.

4. Determine classroom activities.

Teachers should teach students to constantly practice and refine their skills until they become proficient. It is undeniable that a good classroom must include a lot of practice and repetition. If it really takes ten, twenty, or even a thousand exercises to master a skill, then incorporate the exercises into your classroom. Once students start taking on tasks independently, they need to practice a lot: ten or twenty repetitions instead of two or three repetitions.

By the end of the course, after several rounds of practice, students should be able to grasp the knowledge and skills to be learned very well. Here are some points that must be kept in mind:

1. Practice continuously until students are able to complete tasks independently. At the end of self-directed practice, it is important to ensure that students are able to solve problems independently and meet the required standards.

2. Use different variants and forms. Ensure that students can draw analogies and solve different forms of problems, including variations of some example questions.

3. Seize opportunities, increase difficulty and differentiation. Some students learn quickly, and teachers need to prepare some advanced questions to help students take it to the next level.

How to make good use of 3 minutes:

1. Provide clear instructions.

2. Check if the students understand your requirements.

3. Use nonverbal signals, such as shaking your head to reject students who are taking up your time.

4. Let students clearly understand that the first 3 minutes are used to enter the state.

Chapter 11 : High Behavioral Expectations

Teachers should allow students to initiate discussions on their own in a formal process to give them more autonomy - especially when discussion is the goal.

As a teacher, sometimes you have to guide the discussion all the time, make prompts, and instruct almost every student after he or she has spoken in order to ensure rigor, concentration, and mastery. However, it's best not to get involved in everything. Sometimes you can give students a little more autonomy, especially if your goal is to discuss. Group discussion is a technique that allows students to engage in a more formal process away from the teacher for a short or longer period of time.

Group discussions, in their simplest form, allow for a series of student-to-student conversations. You might think it's more like volleyball than tennis. Three to five children will give their opinions before you participate in the comments and lead. All you have to do is ask the next student a question without giving any further explanation. In more complex cases, you can deliberately withdraw from the discussion and allow the student to manage the flow and content of the discussion within a specified time. Many teachers call it a Socratic discussion, a Socratic seminar, or sometimes a fishbowl discussion.

In many cases, the group discussions that are most effective in building students' habits of engagement are also easier to implement: they require little daily practice. Many good teachers treat group discussion as a relaxed and casual activity that takes only a few minutes each day. In one school, all teachers were required to spend one minute in each lesson and say to the students, "Okay, your turn." You should discuss the topic with each other. In many ways, a small amount of daily practice is far more effective, easier to schedule, and cheaper to handle than a large event.

As a computer teacher, reading chapters 6 and 7 of the document gave me a deeper understanding of teaching techniques and teaching methods.

First of all, I realize the importance of teaching technology. In the age of information explosion, how to effectively screen and process information becomes more and more important. Teaching technology provides us with such tools and methods. For example, Pacing technology mentioned in the article emphasizes students' subjectivity and initiative, making students more autonomous, free and flexible in the learning process. This technology can stimulate students' learning interest and motivation, improve their learning efficiency and learning outcomes.

Secondly, I realize that the choice and use of teaching methods are crucial. Different students have different learning styles and habits, so we need to choose the right teaching method according to the characteristics of students. For example, the Tracking technology mentioned in the article can understand each student's learning characteristics and needs by observing and recording their learning, so as to better guide and help them. This technology can enhance students' learning confidence and motivation, improve their learning effect and performance.

Finally, I also realize that the innovation and development of teaching technology and teaching methods are constantly advancing. With the progress of science and technology and the development of society, teaching technology and teaching methods are constantly updated and improved. We need to constantly learn and explore new technologies and methods to better adapt to the changing times and the needs of students.

All in all, reading chapters 6 and 7 of the document made me more deeply realize the importance and innovation of teaching technology and teaching method. As a computer teacher, I will constantly learn and practice new techniques and methods to improve my teaching level and quality.
