I have a crush, and I figured out that he likes someone else. WHat should I do?

Response:
Crushes are always a complicated topic, especially in situations like yours. At this point, you only really have these two options:
1. keep hoping/working towards trying to start something
2. take steps to get over them
the decision is up to you, and both may take a lot of effort. What you have to remember in both cases though is to stay real. For example, you have to know that you cannot control everyone around you upon your wish, so you have to understand that there may be unfortunate situations. Also always remember not to be too harsh on yourself or maybe certain others if things aren't working out the way you want them to, because again, you cannot control everything around you. Do not be confused about that statement though: you can always influence things that are happening and regarding you.

Each person and situation needs an individual approach and there isn't exactly an answer to the question of "what should I do?". Something generally effective though, is spilling your feelings to friends, family or someone else you trust, as that will help you organise your thoughts, maybe get some advice, and possibly make clear to you, what step you should take next.

If you would like to, you can email or approach me (Sonya) so you can talk it out or so that I can give you some more specific advice, depending on where you would like to take this. :)
- Sonya (s51081@bis-school.com)

Assessments

if you have two big assessments on the same day, how would you divide the study time evenly?

Response: you will have to plan your time out in advance and figure out exactly what you have to study. Make sure to not leave all of the studying to the last day/night. You also have to think for yourself and consider which subject is maybe harder for you personally or just has more material, and if you have a subject like that, then the study time shouldn't be even. Try to spend some time studying for each of the subjects you want to study for on each of the days you allocate to studying. On these days, follow the general study tips, such as keeping distractions away, planning your work out and not forgetting to catch some breaks.
If you know that you will have one test in the morning and one in the afternoon (e.g. after break or luch), you might want to make sure that the test in the morning is the last thing you study for the evening before (does not mean that you study harder), to make sure you are still focused mostly on that subject/topic in the morning (you might want to revise in the morning). Then, after you have taken the first test, you might want to use your break or lunch to quickly glance over some notes and revise for the second test, to freshen up your memory and be focused on that.

Something that might help is even if you aren't allowed notes on the test, is still taking some sticky notes/flash cards/lined paper and writing key words or bullet points regarding the test(s) and carrying those around. Without actually "studying" but occasionally quickly glancing over the notes during the day will keep you reminded of the information. (DO NOT bring these notes into class if you're not allowed to bring notes, this is just for the time before)
hope this helps and good luck

I have a crush, and I figured out that she hates me. What should I do?

Response: Again, crushes are a complicated topic and are individual to each person. Firstly, think for yourself: are you SURE that she hates you (how trustworthy is your source, is this just you jumping to conclusions?)? And from that, you can try to decide if it's worth it to keep hoping and trying or start trying to move on and let go. Again, these things are individual so i cannot really answer to "what should you do". All i really have to say is what i wrote in the previous post (the very long one called "Um...."). One thing though: if you are 100% sure of what you're claiming to be true: don't try too hard to "fix it" or change her mind asap, as trying so hard that one can clearly see what you are doing can just make it all worse.

If you want to, we can talk personally and then i can give more specific advice or help you with a decision or whatever else you might me to try and do.
- Sonya (s51081@bis-school.com)
