It was a sunny day at school at Hoffman Elementary School. I was the new kid on the block. I had a ginger boy in my class who was also Polish and spelled his name in a wack way. Pawel. Ever since then, Pawel and I became best friends to this day.

When I started this project, I had a bunch of obstructions. I did not know who to interview or about what. But one day something sparked, a conversation with Pawel about his shoe collection and becoming a sneakerhead. He buys shoes and makes a very good profit off of mostly all of them. So I thought “Why not interview him about sneakers?”. I was always into buying nice shoes for myself, but never selling so its a mutual connection we kind of hold over shoes.

I didn’t know the types of questions to ask at first, but after a few general questions, we sparked a conversation of passion and love for buying and selling shoes.

Pawel is the type of kid that will argue about anything, even if he is wrong. It was really interesting because we always fight about stupid stuff, so I was kind of expecting some shots being fired at each other, causing the interview to be botched. But it was not like that.

I’ve known Pawel for a long time and this might be the first and only thing that I have ever seen him so passionate and excited to talk about. Once I started asking more questions, I just saw his eyes open wider and wider, which was truly a sight to see. This interview was a very eye opening experience for me, and I would 10/10 times do something like this again.

Final Thoughts: My final thought about this project is that it was really fun to do and it taught me new things about one of my best friends. The conversation makes me want to branch out a little bit and start doing more of the things I love and maybe even make a living one day out of simply having fun. You see all the people on youtube and TV that get paid because people watch them and all they do is have fun, and honestly that has always been my dream, and still is. My friends that I grew up with and I have been creating a clothing line and youtube channel, basically trying to make it big one day which I believe is very possible. A lot of things Pawel said in the interview were inspiring in a way and made me think twice about certain things going on.

I don’t want to work a 9-5 job at a desk every day. I hate routine. My biggest fear is being bored and unhappy with the life I will be living as an adult. The thought of being unhappy is always in the back of my head. I use it at motivation to do the things I want to do and aspire to be the best at what I end up doing.
