Macbeth
"If it were done when ’tis done, then ’twere well
It were done quickly. If the assassination
Could trammel up the consequence, and catch
With his surcease success; that but this blow
Might be the be-all and the end-all here,
But here, upon this bank and shoal of time" (1.7.1)
A soliloquy is the act of a speaker or character thinks aloud for the audience to hear, often about thoughts, ambitions, or to foreshadow the text. This example of soliloquy demonstrates Macbeth's tough decisions of whether or not to murder the king. Debating the possible negative impact of the act. Macbeth is aware of the moral devaluation he would be undertaking as well as the karma it would bring.

     Three Witches
''All hail Macbeth!, that shalt be king hereafter!.'' (1.3.50) Dramatic irony occurs when the reader or audience knows something that the characters do not. The witches were foreshadowing that Macbeth would extend his power to the throne, rather than staying as Thane of Cawdor.

     Macbeth
"So foul and fair a day I have not seen" (1.3.38)

The paradox is self contradictory and used to convey Macbeth's attitude towards his new title as thane of Cawdor and his eeriness towards the ideas placed in his head by the witches and Banquo. Macbeth is worried that he may turn to murdering the king as foreshadowed by the witches prophecy.
