I have been working with head start for the last five years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I love being able to shape the minds of these tiny humans and foster a love for learning that will last them a life time. Head start to me is only the beginning of the educational journey, so i must make sure that when teaching my students that I am not only making sure that they are learning, but that they are having fun while doing it. If I had to write a philosophy for my classroom it would be to make sure that I meet the needs of the individual child and not the needs of the class as a whole. It's important in our line of work that we make sure that we are doing with best for each individual child because not all children learn the same and at the same rate. It's my responsibility to make sure that on day one I find out what works best for not only my students but also my parents. Making sure that parents are comfortable and are able to come to me with any questions are concerns they have is important to the success of the school year. On this list that write down the books they read to their child each nightof that month.

Another activity is weekly homework that involves the parent and student completing so sort of activity.

The last activity is a family first night. Speech Therapist: We have a speech therapist on campus who works with children who may struggle with language. She works with all grade levels on campus. That's Head start through fourth grade.

Library: Our local librarian comes to campus once a month for story time with our children. She helps promote literacy in and out of our classroom.
