         <description><![CDATA[<div>The province of Chincha was created by law of October 30, 1868 by the then president José Balta.&nbsp; By another norm, made official on October 13, 1900, the capital of the province of Chincha was transferred to the city of Chincha Alta, which had been created by law on October 26, 1874.<br><br>The name of Chincha comes from the Quechua word "chinchay" which means "jaguar" and which was the deity of the ancient civilization of the Chinchas, extraordinary pre-Columbian navigators and merchants settled in that area during the Late Intermediate Period.<br><br>Chincha is also an expression of Afro-Peruvian culture, since one of the largest settlements of descendants of the first settlers from the African continent, brought by the Spanish conquerors to work in the fields, developed there.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The potaje symbol of Chincha cuisine: the carapulcra with dry soup, celebrated its first anniversary as a flagship dish, typical and representative of the Ica region.&nbsp; For the festivity, the preparation of the largest “manchapecho” in the world was organized, which mobilized more than a dozen chefs to cook this dish, which was offered to all the people who visit the province in this anniversary month.<br><br>As recalled, on January 22 of this year, Regional Ordinance 016-2021-GORE-Ica was published, which "declares the enhancement and recognition as a flagship, typical and representative dish in the Government sphere of public interest and regional priority. Regional of Ica the carapulcra and the dry soup chinchana-manchapecho”.&nbsp; The celebration was established in the gastronomic calendar every fourth Sunday of October.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Amador Ballumbrosio Mosquera, also known by his nickname Champita, was a mason and notable Afro-Peruvian violinist, cajonero and dancer.&nbsp; He was born on November 26, 1933 at the Huanco farm in the district of El Carmen, Chincha.&nbsp; They called him Champita, he was married and had 15 children, mostly musicians.&nbsp; From a very young age he was a remarkable musician, in addition to foot tapping he played the violin.<br><br>He suffered his last years from diabetes, in 2001 he suffered a stroke.&nbsp; He died of cardiac arrest in his hometown on June 8, 2009. His well-attended funeral was a demonstration of Afro-Peruvian culture.&nbsp; The singer Susana Baca lamented his death stating "It is a great loss for Peruvian music, not only for the black tradition."</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In a great game with a comeback included, Peru beat Argentina this Friday to win gold in women's volleyball at the Odesur 2022 Games held in Paraguay.&nbsp; The bicolor team won 3-2 and the country now has 72 medals in the contest.&nbsp; The national sextet was down 2-1 at the close of the third set and closed convincingly to win on Court 1 of the Sports Park of the Paraguayan Volleyball Federation (FPV).<br><br>Those directed by Francisco Hervás were imposed one day before the closing of the XII South American Games ASU-2022, where Peru adds its nineteenth gold medal in the competition.&nbsp; The victory also makes Peru the highest gold winner in women's volleyball in the history of the Odesur Games.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The city of Chincha is located 188 kilometers south of Lima, at 94 meters above sea level.&nbsp; n.&nbsp; m., in the province of Chincha of the Ica Region, in Peru.&nbsp; It has an area of ​​238.34 km² and a population projection of approximately 226,000 inhabitants.&nbsp; It was in 1900 when the archaeologist Max Uhle carried out the investigations of this culture, who highlighted the presence in this valley of the huacas of La Centinela, La Cumbe, Tambo de Mora and Lurinchincha.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Plaza de Armas: Located in the heart of the city, it is populated with palm trees over ten meters high.&nbsp; It is surrounded by the Nuestra Señora del Carmen church, built in 1761, as well as the municipal palace and other important buildings.<br><br>Huaca Centinela: Archaeological complex made up of a set of pyramids and platforms built by the Chincha civilization for religious-ceremonial purposes, where they worshiped "Chinchaycámac", the main deity.<br><br>Petroglyphs of Huancor: It is a set of more than a thousand figures made of stone, whose work is attributed to the ancient Chincha people and in which the skills of the inhabitants are reflected, especially in the areas of navigation, agriculture, livestock .<br><br>Casa Hacienda San José: Its colonial architecture and its historical value stand out, given that it was one of the main sugar estates on the Peruvian coast.&nbsp; In the architectural field, the baroque trend of its altar stands out, as well as its large patio where artifacts from that period can still be seen.<br><br>Sanctuary of Melchorita: Home of Melchora Saravia Tasayco, who was devoted to Santa Rosa and whose virtue she imitated.&nbsp; The site is a cane construction where you can see the wooden bed where the woman rested.&nbsp; Her birth is celebrated every January 6, with religious ceremonies, gastronomic and craft fairs.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It was during the government of the Inca Pachacutec when attempts to subjugate the lordship of Chincha began with negative results, but during the government of Inca Tupac Yupanqui, Pachacutec's successor, a strategic alliance was established with the curaca of Chincha, approximately in the year 1470, being called the chinchay capac.&nbsp; The province of Chincha was created by Law of October 30, 1868 by President José Balta, with its capital the Villa de Pisco formed by the districts of Chincha Alta, Chincha Baja, Pisco and Humay, the same that was elevated to the category of city, by Law of September 19, 1866. By Law of October 13, 1900, this province was divided to form that of Pisco;&nbsp; this same Law moved the capital of the Province of Chincha to Chincha Alta, which has the title of city, by law on October 26, 1868 by President José Balta.</div>]]></description>
