Sibel SAYIN Tekirdağ Süleymanpaşa Karadeniz Secondary School

In its 50 years of existence, it has been an inexhaustible source of talent for performance sports in Iasi and the national junior, youth and senior teams of Romania.

Since 1991, it has become an independent high school based in the most beautiful area of ​​Iași, the Copou neighborhood, near the "Emil Alexandrescu" municipal stadium.

It is the only vocational high school of this kind in Iasi county.

It consists of classes for athletics, football, handball from the 5th grade to the 12th grade.

Starting with the 1999-2000 school year, a mosaic class was established for the high school cycle, with the best student-athletes from the other sports structures in the city of Iasi, for all the sports practiced: boxing, rowing, basketball, judo, fencing, shooting archery, field tennis, etc.

The Sports High School Iaşi, Romania, aims to perfect the personality of the adolescent endowed with sports skills, to whom it provides a secondary school and high school course that trains general culture and generates sports performance. It is the only vocational high school with a sports profile in Iaşi County and is aimed at students aged between 11 and 18, both from urban and rural areas, from Iași County and neighboring counties.

After graduation, young athletes can successfully pursue a form of higher education, they can continue the performance activity at traditional sports clubs in the country and abroad, they have the necessary skills for social insertion, they can develop successful careers.

Sports High School is located in Iași-the historical capital city of Romania where culture and education flourish, old and new co-exist in a vivid atmosphere. It is the only vocational school in the county with sports profile for youngsters of eleventh till eighteenth years old – from rural and urban areas – to embrace athletics, handball, football. As for the high-schoolers, there is a class dedicated to other sports practised in town such as boxing, canoeing, basketball, judo, fencing, tennis.

This beautiful story has started in 1959 when our high school was just a sport branch of Mihai Eminescu High School lasting up to 1991 when it became an independent sports institution as it is known today.

Situated on one of the seven hills of Iași, Sports High School is surrounded by a large and unique green area being an oasis beneficial for our students’ daily trainings.

Our school has set numerous national and international records through the hard work of our students who have dedicated their time and energy to prove they are  not only the best in their sport, but also they are willing to shape their personality in a harmonius way. Our graduates are motivated, strong, hard working, perseverant with a healthy life style persons ready to access various university studies, continuing with a sports career or something else.
