I am looking forward to utilizing a protected time during our days next year to focus on ELD standards with my Physical Education class. I believe focusing on English development specifically during our activities will provide a relevant arena for students to practice their emerging language skills with "Real World" applications

Integrated ELD All teachers use CA ELD Standards and CA CCSS for ELA/Literacy and other content standards. I use this method already with all of my PE classes

CY Third grade, Ell students learn to use English as they learn content knowledge through English. Ells develop English primarily through meaningful interactions and interpreting and discussing literary and informational text. Ells strengthen their abilities while developing critical content knowledge trhough English. Ells need to learn how English works to communicate particular meanings in different ways. They become conscious of how particular language choices affect meaning. They need to know the difference between social language and academic language.

Intergrated ELD can be practiced in many ways. For example, pair sharing can be modified to suit the needs of your ELL students using the ELD standards to support ELL learners. Designated will be discussed more in the future. The CELDT will be replaced and we are being introduced to the concept of having time set aside to use the ELD standards.
