I have been listening to a video about leads to success. The speaker’s name is Richard. Seven years ago, in the seat next to him was a high school student who came from a really poor family. She wanted to make something of her life. She asked him a simple question, “what leads to success?” but he couldn’t give her a good answer. 

What really leads to success? First, we should have passion. And then we have to work, good in work, focus on one thing, push ourselves from self-doubted, serve yourself and others with good serve, having an idea, and we also should persist to failure. 

            I’m very happy to hear this information. I agree with Richard that to be success we not only work but also we should have big passion. Good in work that we do. Don’t think that we weren’t smart or we weren’t can do anything. Just focus on what matter for us. Everyone has their own ability. Jusuf Hamka said that success is not measured by the amount of material wealth but success is one way to be more useful for other. So, we must have a good serve. 

            I repeated the video in 3 time. The speaker speaks so fast and I can barely catch what he’s talking about. But fortunately this platform can be slowed by reset the speed. I love this platform because it provide me with script of video beside. I also can’t hear what word that he pronounce. So, to solve it I saw the script while I listening to the video. Then I wrote down the main point and unfamaliar words on my note.

I have been listening to a news platform. There is a Chinese pensioner, who was a teacher and is now China’s well-known animal rights activist. Over the past twenty years, she has saved thousands of dogs from the slaughterhouses and the streets.

At her home, she takes care of many dogs which eat 200 kilograms of food every day. To feed the dogs, she sold her house and is in debt of 800,000 yuan. She has many supporters, but people from her town do not like her. They say that eating dogs is normal, it is a Chinese tradition.

The old woman and her helpers buy many dogs to save them from being eaten. Some people take advantage of this. They want to sell dogs to her or her helpers to make money.

I love you the old woman. I know, in China eating dogs is normal. But dogs are the most understanding animal ever in the world. I can't bear it if they are eaten. I hope there will be more people who keep dogs like pets so they don't become food.

            I repeated the recorder 3 times. The speaker speaks less rapidly. On this platform, there are 3 levels and I can choose one level that I can hear. I have been listening to a conversation on ELLLO. It is talking about eating healthy food. There is Meg as the reporter and Todd as the source person. According to Meg, Todd seems healthy then asks Todd if is he healthy. He said yes because he eats lots of fruits and vegetables. He loves all fruits except pineapple because He doesn’t like the taste. And he loves so much apple which are easy to eat. He sometimes makes orange juice and always eats bananas and strawberries. 

Not only eat fruit but he also eats vegetables. He said that he always makes special salads. He calls it his chunky, crunchy salad. It is carrots, cucumbers, and tomatoes. He cuts all of them and mixes them. He said that the colors are really pretty. And when he eats the salad, it's very crunchy and chunky because it's all little squares. So, he calls it his crunchy, chunky salad. 

He does cook asparagus. According to him, asparagus is very easy to cook because he just has to cut it up into small pieces. And then he can put the asparagus in a bowl with some water in the microwave, and he can cook the asparagus for about 30 seconds. So, he eats asparagus a lot. Also, he sometimes eats broccoli and cook eggplants.

On the other hand, Meg doesn’t like to eat eggplant because it has a strange flavor to her, so she prefers not to eat eggplant.

Honestly, I love all fruit except ripe papaya because it smells. I always eat young fruit such as mango, guava, papaya, pineapple, etc. Then, I cut them into pieces and add spicy brown sugar seasoning. It’s called rujak. I like all kinds of vegetables except pare because it is bitter. I just found out that cooking asparagus is that easy. Maybe next time I will try it.
