Share one photo you made this week, either a corner or a door, and tell us about it. What settings did you use to make it, why do you like it, why is it a good photo, and what could you have done to make it better. When you comment on your classmates' photos, share what you noticed first and then on a second look, share why you like this photo, and share any constructive feedback you would like to pass on to your peer. Make sure you read the feedback people leave for you, this is the kind of stuff that helps artists grow!

This photo was taken on a Nikon D7200 with a Tamron SP 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC. ISO is 140, it was taken at 75mm, aperture was f7.1, and shutter speed was 1/100s.

The bright blue door on this otherwise faded and weathered old cabin on Main Street in the heart of historic Hope, Alaska is the obvious focus of this picture. When I made it I was still learning my camera settings but I was trying really hard with composition. At the time I was not great at symmetry and this was one of those photos that made me feel proud of myself.

I like the color balance in this image; the green is not overwhelming and the blue door pops just the right amount. I also like how balanced the horizon line is; it was not then and still is not now something that I get perfect every time.

Something I would do different is to make a better picture that didn't require so much editing in processing; you cannot tell, obviously, but there was a lot in the right and left margins of the image that I had to crop out!

In this photo I used two doors to make overlapping corners. Then I placed the subject behind the second door which I think creates more depth. I like that the light behind the subject makes the head and face stand out. The subject seems very wistful to me but I do wish that I had taken more time to carefully line up the angles of the door so they were symmetrical to the camera.

This photo was taken on my iPhone 13 Pro Max.

My subject was the art pieces in a corner of the library. I tried my best to frame it equally. I also turned the brightness up a little. I took this image at a lower angle as well. During editing I increased the saturation to make the colors pop more. Also making the photo more detailed by increasing the sharpness. The story shows West Anchorage High School students art work, they worked together to create pieces that represented the people around them. I like it because the colors helps the textures pop out, it’s unique and involves my my peers.

The adjustments were very slight. I like the simplicity of the photo while it still shows details. I wish I could have adjusted the lighting to minimize the shadow, I think it would make it even more stylized. But overall I chose this one because it is my favorite of my door/corner photos!

The subject in this photo was the framing of the windows in the CTE wing. I like this photo a lot because of the amount of leading lines in it. The subject is also complimented by the corner of part of the wall. All of the things in this photo are nicely silhouetted and the photo is a pretty monotone grey throughout.

I took this photo in the CTE wing at one of the beam intersections. I like how it shows more than one corner. Also, I used the corner as a leading line to the ceiling, but the corner is still the main subject. The beam is a little bit off-center as it starts in one corner and appears to go to the other corner, cutting across the photo in a unique way.

This is a photo of a classroom door at my school. I chose this door because it stands out with its design and represents the character of the classroom behind it.

I focused on making the door the main part of the picture by centering it and trying to keep the framing balanced. The light makes the door’s color pop, which adds to the image.

I like how the colors turned out, especially with the natural light highlighting the details. It has a calm vibe, which fits well with the classroom atmosphere.

If I could redo this photo, I’d try to center it even better and avoid cropping out some parts to keep more of the surrounding detail.

The subject of the photo is my sister in front of the door. The details of the photo, of the room, hint it’s a kids room. The expression my sister is making i think really tells a story and gives off that sibling vibe. I like it because of the time it gives off and how my sisters body language adds to the photo. The techniques i used is increasing the shadows, adding more warmth, and increasing noise reduction.
