https://padlet.com/muenchat/qml5qggrbuoc Review en-us 2017-10-13 16:11:44 UTC 2026-01-07 00:35:26 UTC hello@padlet.com muenchat https://padlet.com/muenchat/qml5qggrbuoc/wish/196882501 I learned that on March 25, 1911,  a fire began at the Triangle factory by a dropping of a cigarette.  Hundreds of female workers were going on with their day, completing all of their work for the day, when they began to smell something burning.  They soon realized the very building they were in was in flames, beginning to crumble to ashed.  Several women escaped on elevators and stairs, but there were still several who were trapped.  The women tried to escape out the back door, but a factory owner had locked it previously that morning, due to a suspicion that someone had been stealing materials.  Hundreds of people came in that day thinking it was just another day of work, but little did they know 145 people wouldn't walk out of those same doors because they died.
The impact of this event was one of the beginning causes of change for workers and safety for everyone.

She very much cared for all of her workers and continually gave speeches to inspire the workers during the strike. She passed away at the age 100 on November 30, 1930. She impacted society because of everything she has accomplished, especially for women.
She impacts my life everyday because I am a women. This impacted society because it now has a legal age as to when drinking is legal for people to drink it.
