Purpose: To correctly place a person at a scene. Can possibly dismiss a person from being at the scene.

Procedure: Under a hand lens carefully find 12 identifying marks. Then compare to samples and match.

Results and Conclusion: All 3 prints had a match, the first one was of Lily’s Left Thumb. The second was of Vinny’s right hand middle finger. And 3rd was of Antonio’s left ring finger. This then places both Antonio and Vinny at the scene which means both of their alibis were false. Vinny was apparently out partying and then at home, but he was actually placed at the scene. Antonio was apparently at home, but his fingerprints were found at the scene placing him there. Possible sources of error, are human error since we didn’t run it through a computer program.

Purpose: To place a possible gun at a crime scene if shells were spent.

Procedure: Carefully take the measurement of the bullet and compare the firing pin marks that were left on the bullet to possible guns. Compare any possible marking on the bullet to the marking that would have been left with test shots.

Results and Conclusion: The bullet matched the description of the bullets that both Kennie and Vinnie own. This places either of their guns at the crime scene. There was a possible human error for measurement and judgement on the size and any possible marking. There was also an error of comparing the bullet to that known of both Kennie and Vinnie.
