The type of strategies they used was doing public speeches so people can hear that both men and women should have equal rights. Yes it was successful because they let women vote now, they have more  job opportunities to work,and the wages got better for women.

They entered a male dominated movement that only fought for the suffrage of men. The National American Woman Suffrage Association campaign helped the government realize that the women fought for their rights good and fairly and deserved it. 

In the end result of this movement, women were able to go to college to look for professions; Entered male dominated jobs like law, medicine, clergy and corporate; Economically they achieved a greater variety in job choices and higher salaries; And finally, The Nineteenth Amendment reads, "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation".

Alice Paul was the leader of the most aggressive and combative of the woman-suffrage movement. She joined the suffragist Emmeline Pankhurst’s radical, confrontational Women’s Social and Political Union and learned how to use civil disobedience and other “unladylike” tactics to draw attention to her cause.
