The story  is challenging as well as difficult to understand. There is  no information about the author which could help the reader.

The main character of this story is a young bay name called David Swan.  David Swan was protagonist. And other characters are a rich couple, a young lady &two robbers who were antagonist.

These all characters passes nearby a maple tree where David Swan a young man who was on his way to Boston,
 and while waiting for the coach.,he falls asleep under this tree ,while he was sleeping, the three major things happen, which could have changed his life now and then.

In first scene a rich couple passed by David Swan , they shown him and that lady liked him as a son and wanted to adopt him. But the gentleman with that lady refused to do so as he was just a sleeping stranger for them, They did not know him properly,so they walked away. Here he lost the chance to become a richman 

In second scene a beautiful girl walked from there , she liked him and protected him from Buzz bee who were moving around David Swan. The girl's father was looking for a clerk but the David was sleeping the girl could not talked to him and went away , so he lost his chance for love as well as job

In third scene two robbers were looking for a chance of robbery , they have seen David Swan and wanted to robe & kill him . Lucky David was sleeping so they have only took his belongings and runway. Thus his life was saved 

The rich couple and a beautiful girl like David Swan though he was sleeping , they could not got chance to talk with him and they walked away.

David Swan, Rich couple & A beautiful girl are likable as they want to help him  , whereas the robbers are unlikable as they want kill the David Swan even they steal his belongings also

The common things was that all the above characters were unknown to David Swan, at the same time they were interested in them with their own reasons.

We all are like David Swan, sometimes opportunity comes to us but we did not get the hint , as we are sleeping  here sleeping means busy in other things.

The main character David Swan was sleeping , where as rich couple and beautiful girl did not tried to wake him up, where as  robbers wanted him to keep asleep , so they can robe him easily.

In this story my favorite character is a pretty girl who was liked him and wanted him to fall in love with her and want to get a job as clerk,  as her father was required a clerk.

The story belongs to an old era happen somewhere in Europe , and is connected to present and future. The story is very much related to today's practical world

Here the author gives beautiful message through this story  do not fall sleep or keep watching dreams that means do not seat ideal , but remain awake so opportunity can be seen by you.
