Huey long took control of the state government of Louisiana and quickly became popular across the nation. He ran Louisiana as a dictator and would pressure or intimidate in order to pass desired reforms. Long took great effort in improving the infrastructure for Louisiana and attempted to create a free state hospital for all to use. He believed in radical welfare reforms and was willing to push them into the public eye. 
Conservative/Liberal? Proof? 
Long was a liberal. He opposed the excessive privilege of the rich and worked towards the benefits of the common man. Long quickly challenged the rule of wealthy elites who ran Louisiana and wanted to make radical changes towards his cause. Conservative… He believed in the American Constitution, and wanted to keep the country how it was without the extreme change that the New Deal would bring.

He lost his job at 66 and needed money, and wrote a letter to a newspaper and received wide support for his plan, which helped pass the Social Security Act and a retirement pay at a lower rate. 
Conservative or liberal? Proof? Liberal. His idea of being paid later in life was formed into the social security act, though he pushed for greater payouts.

He wanted to create a Union (National Union for Social Justice) that was run by workers, not politicians, and that did not use capitalist ideas. 
He had later on gone against Roosevelt since he believed that he was being too nice with banks.
He believed that we needed to bring tons of change and now.

Liberal
He had often criticized Roosevelt for misleading him and not supporting his economic reforms. He had wanted to bring so much change and fast.
