The disease is called “chronic” because the damage to your kidneys happens slowly over a long period of time. This damage can cause wastes to build up in your body. CKD can also cause other health problems. 
End-Stage Renal Disease - (ESRD) is when the kidneys are functioning below 10 to 15 percent of their normal capacity. This is called kidney failure. End stage renal disease develops from chronic renal disease as it progresses into an advanced state. When functioning properly, the kidneys are responsible for filtering out excess fluid and waste from the body.
Renal Replacement Therapy - (RRT) replaces nonendocrine kidney function in patients with renal failure and is occasionally used for some forms of poisoning. Techniques include continuous hemofiltration and hemodialysis, intermittent hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis. All modalities exchange solute and remove fluid from the blood, using dialysis and filtration across permeable membranes.
Peritoneal Dialysis - Peritoneal dialysis uses the peritoneum as a natural permeable membrane through which water and solutes can equilibrate. Compared to hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis is, less physiologically stressful, does not require vascular access, can be done at home and allows patients much greater flexibility.

Perspective patients and caretakers can learn more on the subject related to the treatment by gaining some feedback from doctors and hospital personal, in person. Current studies on preparation for a medical procedure are tied to only determining and or distinguishing when somethings goes wrong. For this research, it is connected to kidney rejection and the causes specific to kidney rejection, post kidney transplant. The information available should cover more than knowing about the procedure. We need more research and deliveries on the experience of preparation.
