Yoan has shown wonderful progress in his body awareness over the year. He confidently identifies and names different parts of his body, including his eyes, ears, mouth, nose, head, shoulders, knees, feet and toes. His coordination and control have developed beautifully, and he demonstrates excellent balance when walking or standing on a beam. He enjoys a wide range of physical activities, such as dancing, action songs, yoga stretches, obstacle courses and outdoor games, which allow him to explore movement in different ways. Yoan loves hopping, jumping and skipping, showing growing strength, rhythm and confidence in his movements. During creative movement and free play, he moves with awareness of the space around him and maintains careful control. It has been a pleasure to watch his physical confidence blossom this year — well done, Yoan!

Fine Motor:

Yoan has made excellent progress in his fine motor development this year. He holds crayons and paintbrushes using a firm four-finger grip and is showing increasing control when colouring within the lines or tracing simple patterns. He enjoys activities that strengthen hand and finger coordination, such as tearing paper, threading beads or fruit loops, and using pegs or tweezers to pick up small objects. Playdough exploration is a favourite, with rolling, squashing, pinching and cutting done with growing precision and creativity. He is also developing skill with scissors, cutting along straight lines, as well as building with blocks, completing simple puzzles, and stacking small objects with care. Clear right-hand dominance and improving hand-eye coordination are evident. It has been a joy to see his confidence and control grow through these fun and engaging activities — great job!

Gross Motor:

Yoan shown wonderful growth in gross motor development this year, enjoying obstacle courses that involve climbing over low platforms, crawling through tunnels, jumping over small hurdles, and balancing carefully on beams. Enthusiasm for ball activities is evident, with confident throwing, catching, rolling, and kicking demonstrating improved control and coordination. Running, hopping, skipping, and energetic outdoor games with friends show both stamina and joy in movement. Dancing and movement games are also a favourite, with rhythmic actions followed with confidence and creativity. His use of large muscle groups has strengthened beautifully, and he now moves with greater balance, strength, and coordination. Well done — what fantastic progress this year!

Yoan has made lovely progress in visual perceptual development this year, confidently identifying and naming a wide range of colours, including yellow, red, green, blue, orange, pink and purple. With gentle encouragement, he is becoming more confident in recognising shapes such as circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, stars, hearts, ovals and diamonds. Sorting and grouping objects by colour, size and shape shows his growing understanding of visual differences. He is also beginning to follow and create simple patterns using blocks, beads and other manipulatives, demonstrating developing sequencing skills. Matching games, puzzles and activities that involve identifying similarities and differences in pictures further strengthen his visual discrimination and attention to detail. It has been wonderful to see his confidence and visual understanding grow throughout the year — well done!

Auditory Development:

Yoan has made steady progress in his auditory development this year. He enjoys story time, especially when the stories include puppets or interactive elements that capture his attention. He becomes more engaged when he is made part of the story — for example, when his name is mentioned or when he is given a character role to play. This helps him to listen with focus and enthusiasm. He loves listening to songs, nursery rhymes and rhythmic activities, and he can clearly distinguish between loud and soft sounds, as well as fast and slow beats. He is able to identify a variety of everyday sounds, such as the ringing of a bell, the honking of a car, the chirping of birds and the sound of clapping or footsteps. He also enjoys playing sound games, using instruments to explore different tones and rhythms. It has been lovely to see Yoan’s listening skills and auditory awareness grow over the year — great job, Yoan!

Painting is a particular favourite, and he experiments with colours using different tools such as paintbrushes, sponges, rollers and even his fingers, which helps him discover new effects and develop fine motor skills.

He enjoys mixing colours, creating patterns and producing both structured and free-form creations. Collage work, cutting and pasting, stamping and threading beads further demonstrate his growing control and precision. Yoan has made excellent progress in his numeracy development this year. He can confidently count from 0 to 20 in a group setting and enjoys joining in with counting activities during class. He is able to count small groups of objects independently, accurately counting up to three items and gradually extending his skills to larger numbers. He is developing a strong understanding of basic numerical concepts, including more and less, big and small, and empty and full.

He enjoys number recognition exercises and is beginning to recognise numerals visually, identifying some numbers during group activities. He can sort and classify objects based on quantity, colour or size and is learning to follow simple numerical patterns by arranging blocks, beads or other objects in sequences. Hands-on activities, such as matching, grouping and stacking objects, further support his understanding of size, quantity and spatial relationships. It has been wonderful to see his confidence and enjoyment in exploring numbers grow throughout the year.
