Especially when I'm coaching, I don't want them to have to struggle to understand me, I want to provide a space for them where they can communicate in their own way. My personality can struggle with that so I want to be aware of it. I think also understanding my coachee's communication styles can help me with that. For example, I have some students who I'm pretty sure are blue, and I always make sure to ask about things they've told me about, even if it's not super related, so we can laugh and build rapport.
