Are social media sites addictive?

Some people say that if you don't have much friends you won't be as addictive but if you have a lot of friends it will affect you a lot. Every text someone sends you, you are eager to check who. It might be because they have something important to say about you or someone. A lot of kids are getting dragged from social media, they can't resist the feeling. Social media sites are very addictive, this is coming from a kid who loves to use social media.
