         <description><![CDATA[<div>New Orleans is known to have as strong presence of music. Jazz music was very big in New Orleans in the 50s. Above is a picture of a band playing in the Graystone ballroom which was the ultimate spot or jazz. People would come from all over just to see band play in the ballroom. Musicians such Bix Beiderbecke, Fletcher Henderson, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, and other top name jazz musicians. New Orleans was one of the top states for music especially jazz music. It was a place where people of all ethnicities (though it was most popular with people of African American heritage) could come together and enjoy their love of music.          <description><![CDATA[<div>New York was home to many musicians in the 1950s including John Williams, Aaron Copeland, the teenagers, but most of all Billie Holiday. Billie Holiday was born in Philadelphia but moved to New York when she was a teenager, where she found her love of music. Holiday went on to make a name for herself in the jazz industry, and create many albums. Billie Holiday went on to perform all over the world but she started with small performances in New York City, where she found her voice and her love for jazz. Billie Holiday was one of the biggest jazz and music names to come out of New York in the 1950s. She has greatly influenced the jazz world and has impacted the genre in a great way.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Nashville Tennessee is one of the biggest country states in America. For many years different country artists have originated or moved to Nashville to create music. In the 1950s Brenda Lee was one of those big names.&nbsp; Brenda Lee was a big pop and country singer in the 50s. She was only 13 years old when she recorded her first hit song "Rock the Bop." She then went on to create many more songs topping the charts more than any other woman with only 3 male acts ahead of her. (Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, and the Beatles.) One of her most known song is "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" that is still played today. Brenda Lee was mainly a country artist but was listed as a pop singer in attempts to gain popularity. Her country music gained many fans and allowed her to make a name for herself. Her music has influenced the country genre and her name is one of the biggest names in country music.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Above is a picture of one of the biggest vocal groups in California , "The Coasters." The Coasters was an all male vocal group that sung rock and roll and R&amp;B. They produced hit songs in the 90s, some of which include "Charlie Brown," "Yakety Yank," and "Young Blood." All of which topped the charts in the 1950s. The band played from 1955 to 1966, the group grew to have million fans over the country and started to move out of California and play in places like Pittsburgh and Baltimore. The Coasters were one of the biggest R&amp;B groups in the 50s, sitting alongside Ray Charles and Ruth Brown they continuously made chart topping songs throughout their fame positively impacting society and inspiring other artists in the genre. &nbsp;Now please go to the red dot back at Seneca Valley to answer the forms!</div>]]></description>
