Teachers may be the first to identify students who potentially need SpEd services, they play a key role in Response-to-Intervention (RTI) or in the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and they give input and serve on students' Annual Review/Dismissal Committees (ARDs). Discuss your understanding of WHY the classroom teacher plays such a key role in these particular steps of the process.

2) Reflect on the Learning Activity (completing the Teacher Input Form for our hypothetical student Dayton Jones). You will do this for EACH of the SpEd students in your classroom each year when you become a teacher. Describe your thoughts about/reactions to this assignment and to taking on this responsibility as a classroom teacher.
