My loving little garden, 

Oh how you bloom! 

The world of color you have created for me, 

Only the Goddess Athena must have weaved you from her loom! 

My, what a lovely little garden you are. 

 

My quite little garden, 

I found a few pest on your leaves today. 

I tried and tried, 

But alas, I could not shoo them away. 

My, what a lovely little garden you are. 

 

My peculiar little garden, 

What flowers do you grow?
 What were once perfect little Belladonnas play 

Now shady little doll eyes go. 

My, what a lovely little garden you are. 

My sweet little garden, 

Your bushes are burned, 

Your edges clipped, 

And your soft dirt overturned. 

My, what a lovely little garden you are. 

 

My tiny little garden, 

Your roses now prick me, 

Your tulips now kiss acid onto my face, 

Your forget-me- nots now forget me. 

My, what a lovely little garden you are. 

 

My sad little garden, 

Call off the sisters three, 

I plead with you to tell, 

Tell them that you do not wish to leave me. 

My, what a lovely little garden you are. 

My sick little garden, 

They have come to take you away, 

Far away from my arms and loving embrace, 

I will protect you from their gaze. 

My, what a lovely little garden you are. 

 

My bright little garden, 

How you burn so bright! 

In the town they cry, 

“What on earth could be burning this Night?” 

My, what a lovely little garden you are. 

 

My sweet little garden, 

Don’t look at me so, 

You know in thine heart that you were mine, 

So why would you dare to go?

I wrote this poem because I always remember the sad love stories of Gothic poetry, so I thought of Poe's writing and how he would tell a story of a broken heart. The end result was Little Gardens.
