My middle name is Nicole and it originates form Greek. It means victory of the people.

How did I get my name?

My grandfather gave me my name. He got the idea from a jewelry store that was called Ashley Diamonds. He told my mom that was a sign. He said that diamonds are one in a million, so this baby will be too. No one knows where he came up with the name Nicole but he wanted it to be my name. My mom wanted Marie like her's.

My nickname is Ash. It's the shorten version for Ashley. My mom does call me Sister, I don't know why and neither does she. I think she started calling me that when my brother and sister were born to help them identify me.

I'll admit that the name Ashley is very common, not unique, and sometimes I do dislike my name for this reason. However, I remember that it's not about what your name is but how you were named that is unique.

If I could change my name, it would be Vivian after my grandmother.
