Most states offer medical and religious exemptions and some states allow philosophical exemptions. Proponents say that vaccination is safe and one of the greatest health developments of the 20th century. They point out that illnesses, including rubella, diphtheria, smallpox, polio, and whooping cough, are now prevented by vaccination and millions of children’s lives are saved. They contend adverse reactions to vaccines are extremely rare. Opponents say that children’s immune systems can deal with most infections naturally, and that injecting questionable vaccine ingredients into a child may cause side effects, including seizures, paralysis, and death. They contend that numerous studies prove that vaccines may trigger problems like autism, ADHD, and diabetes. In Malaysia recently, there is also issue related to the vaccine. There is a group of antivaccine people. They did not take any vaccine because of several reasons. For our country, since the 1950s, Malaysia has established the national immunisation programme (NIP) and has maintained a high rate of vaccination, with over 90% of infants and young children receiving their vaccinations under this programme.

Purpose:
1. Oppression is a type of injustice. The verb oppress can mean to keep someone down in a social sense, such as an authoritarian government might do in an oppressive society. It can also mean to mentally burden someone, such as with the psychological weight of an oppressive idea”. It also states that feminists fight against the oppression of women because women have been unjustly held back from achieving full equality for much of human history in many societies around the world.

In the early days women were seen as wives who were intended to cook, clean, and take care of the kids. They were not allowed to vote while men took care of having jobs and paying any bills that had to be paid.

Soon enough it caught on that women should have a bigger role than what other people thought women should have. Women would have strikes and go on marches to prove that they should have rights just like everyone else. They faced discrimination like and other race that faced it. Women would voice their opinion in any way possible so that they could reach their goal and they did.

In August of 1920, women were granted the right to vote by the implementation of the 19th amendment. Since then, women have slowly progressed into having the same rights as men. And although most people would assume that women have reached the same status as men, given the modern era, that is simply not the case.

According to ‘The Rattler: The Student News Site of Serrano High School’, women today are still oppressed in multiple ways, and yet we as a society turn a blind eye to the oppression that physically and emotionally harm women as a gender and as individuals. Not only are women financially oppressed, women are also socially and sexually oppressed in more than one circumstance in which men would not be.

It also states that sex differences in education are a type of sex discrimination in the education system affecting both men and women during and after their educational experiences. Men are more likely to be literate on a global average, although women are more prevalent at higher education in some countries. Men and women find themselves having gender differences when attaining their educational attainments. Wikipedia states that although men and women can have the same level of education, it is more difficult for women to have higher management jobs, and future employment and financial worries can intensify. There is a more "masculine culture" in today's society and when women take on the role of managers in a company, male counterparts become tense.

Purpose:
1. To identify the purpose of women oppression.

2. To identify whether women are still oppressed today in terms of education and occupation in UPSI.

3. To identify effect of women facing oppressed in terms of education and occupation in UPSI.

4. To identify whether the society is awareness to oppression against women today in UPSI.

Method(s): Interview & Questionnaire

Production Timeline :

Interviewees:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

Interview Questions:
1.Are you aware that Malaysian women feel oppression today?

2.Have you personally faced oppression in UPSI?

3.Do you know any women who has faced oppression in terms of workspace and education in UPSI?

4.In your opinion, where do you think oppression is more focused on in UPSI?

5.“Women should not work nor further their education” do you agree with this statement made by...?

6.If you feel oppression amongst women in UPSI is happening, what can we/ you do to combat the issue?

Questionnaire
