Main goal: In time lower the voting age to 16 at all political levels

Activities: For now no concrete plans have been decided upon sadly enough, we have decided on other priorities for the coming two years

--> will probably think of implementing the new communication strategy of YFJ

From our perspective, the most crucial thing is changing the social perspective of a topic, but also putting the topic on the agenda on the political stage. It is a long-term goal. But we are trying to define some measures to implement it in the following years.

I think one of the best advocacy strategies would be through education at school. But also non-formal that would be conducted by NGOs and with the cooperation of our member organizations.

Activities:

Lobbying – Coordinate with the British Youth Council to engage MPs and local representatives, presenting research and youth testimonials to build legislative support.
Public Campaigns – Leverage BYC's platforms to run social media campaigns, share success stories from councils advocating Vote 16, and engage the public with informational content.
Partnerships – Work alongside BYC-affiliated youth councils, schools, and youth organizations to host workshops, events, and petitions, reinforcing a unified national push for Vote 16.

The specific advocacy tools we will implement are working closely with other youth organisations and political youth parties. Furthermore, we will use our social media platforms to inform our following on why vote16 is good and necessary. These social media posts will hopefully also entail a big media outlet such as a newspaper, radio- or tv show. Ofcourse dependent on momentum. Lastly we will try to start conversations with our current minister of home affairs on the matter. And ask the minister of youth to support our efforts.

Goal : To have vote 16 bu pushing for a modification of the constitution

What : round tables, media apparitions, social media, petition, occupation of the public space, school visits...

We're generally just striving for the topic to be talked about, to popularize it with all of the stakeholders. In one of the discussions organized by RmS, we came to the conclusion that a good starting point would be to achieve Vote 16 for the European elections and in the future continue from there to the local and national level elections.

We will continue talking about the topic in our podcast interviews, in discussions with our partners and partner institutions.

Our main goal is to start the conversation on the municipality level with children and youth councils that are part of our network.

For activities we plan to organise workshops and roundtable discussion about the topic with civic organisations and our MOs. We will plan to do research on the topic on how does this work in other EU member countries.

The Czech Council of Children and Youth should on the basis of strong incentives either stemming from the member organisations or other relevant places present the arguments for the lowering of the voting age to 16 years of age to the public and advocate as much as the capacity would allow it.

In this regard there are possibilities to make use of CRDM´s connections in the higher places, launch campaings, lead workshops, promote the topic on the social media and many other activities.
