I learnt about the joints of the lower limb which is the foot and ankle, knee and hip joint. Learning about the joints included learning about its function, movement, classification and control. I had to learn about the lower limb as it important to know about the joints in sports therapy. I prepare for learning by reading and going through the power point before attending class. A I always wore sporting clothing to be prepared for all practical lessons for example when testing muscles. For most lessons I used an anatomical skeleton model, bone models, muscles models and hip models as well. I used this to have a physical understanding of where exactly the bones, muscles and ligaments is locate in the lower limb. Which made in easier for me to get clearer knowledge. The support I engage with was from my anatomy lecturer who always helped me get a better understanding of topics that I struggle with during classes. Also, my classmates were always there to share the knowledge on topics that I found difficult. I benefit from the support I received as I now have a deeper understanding of the lower limb and how it works and why the human body needs it to function properly as a whole. Areas of development I identify was knowing all the bones of the ankle and where it was in the foot and knowing the movements it produces. The barriers were me not being able to attend all the classes base on the module. This made it difficult for me to catch up on the work I missed as sometimes I did not understand it fully. I will use this module to help me with other modules as I use my understanding of the lower limb to help me understand for example if I’m doing a module on sport injury, I would be able to know where the injury is located in the body and how it will affect the movement.
