The second goal allocated was to provide training and employment of long-term values to the workers or the unemployed. For example By 1937, about 400,000 youth were either employed or in job training programs assigned by local NYA offices. Also with war happening, majority of those in the program were getting training as skilled machinists to work in the nation’s specialist weapon and defense industries. The productive labor helped make a reform change to the United States and became stronger.

Some people might have been critical of this program because they would think that it costed the economy to much money for providing the public such aid-programs to workers and the needy. Also they might disapprove of the benefits because after all it might have been the government losing money other than gaining money.
