A glass bottle of Coca cola can be found at almost any grocery store, or corner store that sell sodas. Even at some fast food restaurants like Chipotle, where they offer glass bottles of both Coca Cola and Sprite. However, the glass bottles of Coke are sort of becoming rarer to find. With majority of the bottles of coca-cola available for consumers, are the plastic ones. Most of these glass bottles are stored in refrigerators in stores to keep the flavor in tact.

Coca cola bottles are advertised by videos on youtube, or commercials on TV. They would have famous people in their commercial to promote the product. Which leads to consumers buying the bottle. They would also use the logo on billboards or posters on busses. Or would have the logo splattered everywhere. A method I seen recently, is Universal studios put a ticket type to be called the Coca Cola ticket.

What do environmental studies scholars say are some of the biggest issues with garbage, overconsumption, plastics or other toxic materials related to your object, and waste streams in general? - Vieri

Much like the threat waste plastic holds in the environment, waste glass is an often-ignored problem. Less than 30% of glass manufactured in the United States is recycled with the rest going to landfills often resulting in break down. It is near undetectable, difficult to remove, and takes hundreds if not thousands of years to disintegrate. Although recycling can help cost manufacturing, the supply chain for creating new glass products from cullet's is a complicated process due to various materials that can be found in glass. The problem is further exacerbated with waste that comes in the form of powder which is near useless due to size. While efforts to use the glass powder do seem promising such as combining it with concrete, this does not mitigate the amount of glass not recycled.

https://csu-la.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01CALS_ULA/1ijj6l6/cdi_unpaywall_primary_10_1016_j_hazadv_2022_100063

https://csu-la.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01CALS_ULA/1ijj6l6/cdi_proquest_journals_3054926707

https://csu-la.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01CALS_ULA/1ijj6l6/cdi_crossref_primary_10_1016_j_conbuildmat_2023_132044
