         <description><![CDATA[<div>1) Demonstrates the importance of achieving full knee ROM (in this paper it was passive range) as it appears that those with a greater reduction in knee ROM appeared to suffer from more quads atrophy.<br>2) The paper said that it is likely that the post-op atrophy might affect more of the Type-II fibres...just thinking if that means that we should focus more on hypertrophy work on the type-II fibres to minimise the asymmetry (in terms of muscle size) post op. But in saying that, given that type-II fibres get recruited anyway as long as one approaches proximity to failure on any given exercise, so rep ranges don't really matter (for the purposes of hypertrophy), though the argument can be made that for efficiency of time and the purposes of strength, lower rep work is better suited in such a scenario. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It seems that pre-operatively, strengthening of the QF is only so-so effective (to a certain extent) to minimize atrophy of the quads after op. So is it necessary to do such a pre-op strengthening exercise if its just gonna atrophy in the end and likely start back from (almost) scratch? Maybe perhaps to maintain some muscle mass is understood... but to really strengthen it up only for it to atrophy a significant amount after operation.... Consider strengthening the whole lower limb kinetic chain and not too much focus on just the quads? Maybe only the  post-op rehab is essential and the prehab is not?<br><br>-Farhan</div>]]></description>
