V: While reading Wonder today for independent reading time, I visualized the scene where Jack, his babysitter and brother were at Carvel and it was the first time Jack saw August. I was really able to picture Jack's face when he saw August. In my head I made a movie of Jack, Veronica and Jamie walking away from Auggie and his family. When the author wrote, "I turned around to look at him one more time. The kid was licking his ice cream and mom was picking up his scooter" on page 136 I could really picture this whole scene.

I pictured her drawing a picture of herself with her amazing hair and when she got home she was nervous because she knew her mom would be very upset with her because of how she reacted.page 88.89.

Today when I was reading Frizzy I visualized when she got her hair done and was not very happy because she gets it done almost every week but this time it’s for Diana’s wedding page 6. When I was reading Baby Sitters Club, on page 3-4, I visualized that when the bell rang she jumped out of her seat and yelled ''horray' because she was excited. But then she got in trouble and tried to be nice to the teacher when he called her to his table. I also visualized her face looking sad and disappointed when he said she had to write a one hundred word essay.

In the book Jurassic Park, I could visualize the part when John Arnald went to turn the power in the park back on. ''Arnald stepped into the bunker. It was really dark, so he took off his shoe and left it in the doorway to allow some light to stream in". I can picture the scene clearly in my mind, seeing the woods outside through door and straining to see through the dark for the power switch inside.

I am reading Kitty and the Moonlight Rescue written by Paula Harrison.

On chapter 3, page 45 it said “she had a beautiful honey-colored coat and a long, elegant tail.” I visualized the cat named Katsumi and what she looks like. I thought about how pretty she looked.

T-S: I can understand how August felt going into the cafeteria because it reminds me of all the 4th graders running out to recess. On page 49 it says, “All the kids from all the fifth-grade classes poured into the cafeteria at the same time.” This reminds me of all the 4th graders pouring out onto the playground at recess time. Kids are bumping and running as fast as they can just like the 5th graders in August’s cafeteria.

When I was reading Baby-Sitters Club, Mary Anne's Bad Luck Mystery I could visualize the story. On pages 6-11 one sentence from the book I could visualize was "I walked over to Cokie and Grace's table and said Everyone in our business works very hard so I don't know what you are talking about." I could visualize Mary-Anne walking over to the table and saying that to Cokie and Grace.

I have one more chapter to go but I predict that Kataumi, Pixie, Figuaro and Punkin will all stay at Kitty’s house for a little while as pets. Katsumi is sleek and sophisticated who is always quick to call kitty at the first sign of trouble. Pixie has a nose for trouble and whiskers for mischif. Figuaro is a wise and kind kitty who knows the neighborhood like the back of his paw. Pumkin is a stray ginger kitty who is devoted to Kitty. Kitty is a little girl Who has special powers just like her mom. I guess I’ll just have to wait to figure it out once I finish the book.

I'm reading The Magicians Nephew by C.S. Lewis. I'm using the visualizing strategy for reading. The author is really good at making movies in the mind of the readers. I like the part on page 4(So she looked up, full of curiosity. The face of the strange boy was very grubby. It could hardly have been grubbier if he had first rubbed his hands in the earth, and then had a good cry, and then dried his face with his hands. As a matter of fact, this was very nearly what he had been doing.) I can really picture what Digorys face looks like. It had so much dirt!

I visualized in the book The World according to Humphrey. I could visualize Humphrey at the pet-o-Rama and Ms.Mac coming to get him. In the book she is described on page 3 it says “I saw a mass of bouncy black curls. A big, happy smile. Huge dark eyes. She smelled of apples. It was love at first sight.” She sounds really nice because she is smiling and her hair sounds really pretty. I’m not sure how she smells like apples but I’m guessing she used perfume.
