At one point, Roger sneaks up behind one of the boys and throws rocks in his general direction, but never directly at him. Later, Ralph and co. notice a ship, and rush off to tell the fire managers, only to find that the fire has gone out. A little miffed, Ralph confronts Jack about this failure; however, Jack is unconcerned as he has finally killed a pig. One thing leads to another, and Jack breaks Piggy's glasses before the group sits down to eat some meat.
