I write because I have to. It doesn’t really matter what it is. I write for work or for my emotional well being or because I simply have to. I always have. Ever since I was a little child with “Rainbows, Bears and Bunnies”, I write. Even when I’m not actually writing, I write. I write stories in my head. What are your thoughts if not the story of you? The story of your life? I write stories in my head. Always have. Always will.

I write lists to remember and cross out to feel accomplished.
I write to figure out what I'm really thinking on a topic. Often this takes me off a cliff or on a tangent, but I gladly follow it.
I write lessons to teach writing yet don't practice it quite as often.
I write into the day with my students.
I write to communicate.
I don't write enough.
