As a learner, my lecturer would create a very welcoming atmosphere, he would say "we are learning together here, don't be scared if you're wrong" thus encouraging us the students to inquire and engage more discussion or curiosity towards the subject. He had a provocative question for us, and it had led us to a specified discussion leading to the bigger concepts.

When I was in college, my lecturer asked us to find an assessment that was invalid. We could explore online or paper-based assessments and identify the reasons for their invalidity. Through that learning experience, I learned how to avoid creating invalid assessments by paying attention to every aspect. On the other hand, I also discovered various ways of conducting assessments.

My favourite learning experience was when I had an opportunity to practice 'speaking' in speaking class. In that time I got time more to practice more, not only sitting down and listening to the material. Instead of it, my teacher gave me some opportunities to practice and after that I reflected what was the part that I need to improve.

I got some questions and I got some time to think, and started to practice with my peer.

When i joined the KNVB training for the first time as participant, I realize that the way to learn there is really different with what I used to have before. Its learning by doing. Also when we are making mistakes, we were stopped and being asked, not being told. That way, our mind are thinking and also we practice speaking in front of our friends. Actually from the beginning, we were asked, what are our expectations, and although not all our expectations are met at the end of the training, but mostly 80 percent are covered.

as a learner : i learn to understand math better in high school. the teacher use "lecture" style of teaching, with minimum of class activity, but the teacher help me understand about math steps by steps and thoroughly

as a teacher : one of my favorite teaching experience, is when i teach musical theory to students, and help them build sense of music and also to introduce to the students the connection of math with music and how to sense the differentiation between it

Teaching polygons and its sides and vertices. I asked the kids to use ice cream sticks to form shapes in pairs. The instructions were like, 'Use 4 sticks to form a shape, use 5 sticks, 6 sticks,' and so on, while making sure that each stick was connected to the others. Then, we discussed the name of each shape and the number of sides and properties they have.

One of the most memorable learning experiences I've had, which reflects my inquiry skills, was teaching Unit 3, How We Express Ourselves, especially through dance. Initially, I planned to simply dance along as a form of expression, drawing from my own experience as a dancer where I would just copy my teacher’s movements. However, after researching ways to teach dance through YouTube and other lesson plans, I realized there was potential for a much deeper approach. During moments of reflection, like taking a shower or exercising in the morning, I developed a goal to help students create their own movements by scaffolding the learning process.

I started by guiding students to choose a theme for their dance and select a song. We then examined the lyrics to understand the emotions and message we wanted to express. Next, I demonstrated some example movements, showing them what matched the lyrics and what didn’t, so they could start thinking critically about their own ideas. I realized that if I asked them to create movements without any preparation, they might forget their ideas. So, I had them draw and write short descriptions about specific movements for their hands, fingers, body, and legs.

As a result, even though the project isn’t fully complete, the students have been able to develop their own ideas without needing much of my guidance.

Through guiding questions such as “Are all chopsticks the same?” I encouraged students to search for answers and gather different perspectives. They then summarized the differences in chopsticks used in China, Japan, and Korea. Students also shared their favorite utensils and explained why they preferred them. This activity not only taught them some knowledge about chopsticks but also highlighted the differences in dining cultures across the three countries.

As a teacher

When I taught elementary 1, unit "how we express ourselves" 2 weeks ago. I gave an example for students how to select the shapes and draw them on a computer. Many students interested because they liked to draw. So the atmosphere was good.

As a learner

When I learned mathematics. The teacher gave illustration and benefit to learn that chapter. Example when I learned calculus, algebra, and trigonometry.

When teaching about mass in grade 2, I introduce the topics that we will cover related to mass. I teach the children how to use measuring tools for mass through hands-on activities and teaching aids. We play a buying and selling game, where the class is divided into four groups – two groups become sellers, and two groups become buyers. They get to decide which role they want to take, fostering independence and choice.

I also tell them about an upcoming field trip, where we’ll be doing cooking activities. We provide choices for the children to decide what they’d like to make. Some of them suggested making dessert cups, pancakes, or waffles. This activity encourages them to ask questions and, through their actions and exploration, they naturally find answers to these questions.

My most memorable teaching experience was when i asked a student to create an artwork about his dreams and then write a presentation. When he presented in front of his parents and teacher, he felt happy and proud, not only because he could show the artwork he created but also because he could convey their dreams.

One of my favorite teaching experiences I've had was when I taught the lifecycle of a plant in science. Instead of telling them the lifecycle, I decided to bring a plant and let the students explore the parts of the plant. After the explorations, they came up with questions that led to observations of the plant growth. Each of us planted a seed, where we put them in the classroom, everyday we checked our plants and see the difference where we could notice the plant's growth.

As a learner, I recently started learning how to cook simple recipes. I enjoy watching cooking and food-related videos on YouTube. These days, I learn most of my cooking from TikTok and Instagram Reels, which show step-by-step recipes that I then try to recreate.

One of my favourite learning experiences was when I attended a seminar on School Branding a couple of years ago. The speaker didn't share many theories. She only shared a little bit, but she provided some thinking tools to all the participants to help us understand our school from different perspectives and to evaluate and analyze it more deeply

understand something means going deeper than knowing; it can be seen through the actions that the people can explain, answer and describe it

worth knowing is something that is basic life skills, worth understand when it is connect to our behviour, needs and helped us to living our life

we need to know first, before you understand , sometimes we understand how something works without knowing the terms

the conceptual understanding will put the basic foundation so it's develop the observation

to know the concept they have to have more practice

It reveal about how fast they can understand, it reveal their prior knowledge and how to connect that
