Today, we got a lot of things done! I'm proud of it!

We learned what the numbers for the fingers of the right and left hand mean. Please study each hand and the colors for each finger.

We also learned the notes D and B which are the Next Door Neighbors of Middle C. The Note D is to the right of C and B is to the left of C.

Take your time before you start
Sing at least two measures and count before you put your hands on the keyboard. It will help you to determine the tempo.
Hear the sound before you play it.
LAST NOTE: very important to end properly, relieve the energy and place your hands on your knees and then get up and bow.
Practice that at home everyday.Do not forget to play it slow.

Scales: Continue to practice on your scales single hands. You have your scale sheet.
Chords and cadences: Refer to your sheet. Remember, to construct the chord, the first note will match the note of a scale. Example: C chord, the first note of the chord is C, and then, it skips over the next note and goes to the note after that (E), and the same thing for the final note (G).

arpeggios - practice hands separately and very slowly. Focus on what arpeggio yo you are playing when you get confused on your notes. Also, please look at the fingering when you are practicing. Incorrect fingering can cause you to play the wrong notes. Say that notes aloud when you play them to help memorize which notes to play

Evening Song: Count,. Fix the rhythm for when there are eight notes.

My Lady Eleanor's Lute Song: Count and remember where some of the chords come in . Counting will help you remember.

Cadence: Work on B minor. Add them to your warm ups.
Scales: Good! Play them a little slower.
Arpeggios: Study your triad chords such as in E, the triad is E-G#-B (Don't rely on Muscle memory). Fix fingerings and memorized them with the correct fingerings.
Good Morning to You: Work on memorizing it a little better.
Rustic Dance: Remember not to miss the chord of the a and e on the second to last measure. No pauses.
Circle Dance: work on articulations. and hold the chords a little longer at the end with the fermata symbols on top.
The Robbers: Don't hold notes on the rest. And work on the articulations a little more, really bring out the accents when there is one. Good with the memorizing!
Rainbow Colors: work on articulations and start using the pedal.

Sonatina Movement 1: Keep that left hands steady! Add those dynamics, decrescendos, crescendos, and do not forget that accent at the end of line four.

Sonatina Movement 2: Practice them in three separate parts (the stars). Do not play the first part too fast or else the second part will be too slow. Count 1+2+3+. Do not rush those half notes in the second part.

Scales/Arpeggios/Chords: Play your scales more evenly.

Sonatina First movement: Play the G scale before you play this piece. Think about the phrasing of the piece. The melody tells the story. The bass accompanies the melody and should sound softer than the melody.

Second Movement: Play the C major scale before it. Play the eight notes correctly.

Third Movement: Bass should be softer. Two eight notes are in one clap. Melody should sing more. Get more used to playing.

Spanish Guitar: Staccatos. Make the ending more dramatic.

Sonatina Movement 2: Keep an even tempo throughout the piece. Do not make lines 3 and 4 slower than the rest of the piece. Do not pause transitioning through measure in the last line of the piece.

Sonatina Movement 3: C MAJOR CHORD IN THE LAST MEASURE FOR THE LEFT HAND! Remember that silence measure, absolultely no sound! Work on the transition on the last two measures so yu do not pause!

*Pro tips:
1. 5 rhythms exercise for scales and arpeggios: This will help you with knowing when to tug over and can increase speed. Remember to shake off any tension during the pauses. And when you start playing again, play as lightly as possible.

2. Cycling practice method: It is when you take any small section, passage, or even small intervals or leaps that are giving you trouble and tackling it head on! Start from troubled spots and repeat as many times to get comfortable. First start repeating correctly at a turtles' pace. If you can master it at a turtle's pace, then you can master it more easily on the normal tempo. Keep in mind of your fingerings and repeat playing as relaxed as possible. Make sure you release any unnecessary tension. This method can be applied to any piece :)

Sonatina in F major: Practice by using the Cycling Practice Method! Cycle any troubled areas where you make the most mistakes. Play correctly more times and slow it down if it helps.

*Pro tips:
1. 5 rhythms exercise for scales and arpeggios: This will help you with knowing when to tug over and can increase speed. Remember to shake off any tension during the pauses(take your time on the pauses too). And when you start playing again, play as lightly as possible and work on the tempo you wish play at.

2. Cycling practice method: It is when you take any small section, passage, or even small intervals or leaps that are giving you trouble and tackling it head on! Start from troubled spots and repeat as many times to get comfortable. First start repeating correctly at a turtles' pace. If you can master it at a turtle's pace, then you can master it more easily on the normal tempo. Keep in mind of your fingerings and repeat playing as relaxed as possible. Make sure you release any unnecessary tension. This method can be applied to any piece :)

Minor Scales: Natural, Harmonic and Melodic Forms

About Minor Scales:

 We call scales RELATIVE if they share the same key signature; Minor Scales are built on the 6th scale

degree of a Major Scale

 To quickly find a MAJOR key’s RELATIVE MINOR, count down 3 half-steps from the tonic note of the

major scale (remember to start with the tonic then count down—don’t count the tonic note as “one”)

 Examples: C Major and A Minor are RELATIVES; C is the RELATIVE MAJOR of A Minor, and A Minor is

the RELATIVE MINOR of C Major

 Minor Scales built on the same TONIC note of a Major Scale are called PARALLEL
