I get to celebrate the holidays twice in one day! My mom is 100 percent Italian; therefore,there are a few popular dishes she makes for the holidays. On Thanksgiving she makes homemade Italian wedding soup as part of dinner,and she bakes homemade Italian cookies for Christmas!On Thanksgiving at my moms house,my family members and I write down our wish list for Christmas and everyone picks a name. On Christmas morning we exchange presents for the family member we bought for. We call it Pollyanna, and we do this every Christmas morning. My dad does not make any special dishes associated with his culture; however,my stepmom is Polish and Ukrainian, and she makes homemade pierogies, and we eat them as part of Easter dinner.

The most important thing I value in my life is my strong faith. I live each day being curious about where I am headed, because I cannot always see where I am going; however, the one thing that allows me to keep going is the ability I have to trust. Trust is another important value in my life, because I believe trust can bring individuals together. I also value advice from those who are older than I am. I believe seeking guidance from those who experienced life earlier than I have is wise, and it can be a huge benefit.

My younger sister and I are very close, and often times we get asked if we are twins. We look a lot alike, although she does not think that; however, I do. She is my best friend and growing up we were always together. We are two years a part and we have a close bond with one another. My other siblings and I share a special relationship, and I am close with them too. I come from a loving, caring, and Christian family. I am very close with my dad, and he is the most inspiring person in my life, and I look up to him. He taught me the importance of putting faith first and to always work hard and to try my best. He is a wise individual,and I am grateful for the man of God he is.

I go out of my way to help anyone who needs assistance. I will help those at a grocery store who may need help loading their groceries, or I will take a cart from someone so they do not have to walk it back. I try to find needs within people in the community, and I just help anyway I can. I watched my dad exhibit this behavior, and I naturally started to do it too. Writing allows me to express my thoughts and feelings without judgement, because writing is unique to every individual. I also enjoy reading my Bible and non-fiction books. I love teaching Sunday school because it allows me to be creative and connect with children about Jesus.

One cool thing I do is I diagnose pools based off of a water test, and I give a recommended treatment to fix imbalanced pool water. The job is demanding because I am in charge of running the retail store; however,I like what I do! I also babysit for a five-year old boy, and he is my little buddy. Working is important to me because I feel that it gives me a sense of responsibility. I worked since I was 14 years old,and I am currently 20.

I am German, Irish, Scottish, and English; however, I only practice a few traditions from the Italian culture.
