         <description><![CDATA[<div>Linda Sue Park was born on March 25, 1960, and lived outside of Chicago. Her parents are Eung Wan Ed and Susie Kim. Her parents parents came from Korea. She has two kids named Anna and Sean, and her husband is a journalist from iraland&nbsp; . When Linda was little and through her life she loved to do things many kids her age would love to do: writing, reading, cooking, to travel, doing puzzles,&nbsp; playing sports, and doing family board games. Over the years Linda Sue Park won many awards and honors, she won: the John Newbery medal for her novel&nbsp;<em>Single Shard</em>&nbsp;and 40 other awards because of her outstanding children books about the history of Korea</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The book&nbsp;<em>A Single Shard&nbsp;</em>is about a teenage boy named Tree-Ear. Tree-Ear has a dream to be a master potter, the only problem is that Tree-Ear is an orphan and in Korea it is a tradition to teach your son how to be as successful as you. Tree-ear starts working for a master potter named Min with hopes of learning how to throw a pot. When the emissary comes and Min doesn't have a pot, Tree-Ear offers to go on a long and hard journey to show Min that he is worthy to make a pot. While Tree-Ear is traveling he runs into a group of robbers. They smash his vases that he is bringing to the emissary. Tree-Ear finds a single shard from one of the vases that shows the shape and beauty of Min's skill. Tree-Ear succeeds in bringing the shard to the emissary and they approved of Mins work and. When Tree-Ear gets home he is really excited to tell Min the good news, and see his friend. While Tree-Ear is talking to Min and his wife they tell him something that he was not ready to hear.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>When My Name Was Keoko&nbsp;</em>is about a family of 5 living together during the invasion of the Japanese.&nbsp; The Japanese had its clutches on Korea for a long time. &nbsp;<em>When My Name Was Keoko</em>&nbsp;states, "A long time ago, when Abuji was a little boy and Uncle just a baby, the Japanese took over Korea. That was 1910. Korea wasn't its own country anymore".&nbsp; The time in the story was 1945.&nbsp; Uncle works for the resistance, and the Japanese do not like that he is against their beloved Emperor.&nbsp; They took medal, rice, food, clothes, everything that is Korean away from their owners so that they can become Japanese and not there Korean selves. Tae-Yul goes to war to "save" Uncle and almost dies as a kamikaze.&nbsp; Abuji secretly wrote papers for Uncle, Sun-Hee wrote in her diary so she could tell Uncle everything when he got back, even when the Japanese warned her, Omoni hid things that were Korean: a pin with a dragon holding a pearl in its mouth/teeth, and a baby Sharon tree, the tree symbol of Korea.</div>]]></description>

You could write 'Royal dragon' or something like that".&nbsp; According to&nbsp;<em>Seesaw Girl , &nbsp;</em>"The house was built like a U around the Inner Court.&nbsp; The women lived in one part .&nbsp; The men's room's were at the front".&nbsp; When My Name Was Keoko describes, "It was her favorite because the dragon had a little pearl ball in its claw".&nbsp; Single Shard includes, "The robber pulled and jerked; Crane-man's solid straw work held".&nbsp; All of these quotes include a symbol that helps us understand the story a lot more and unlocks some secrets of the books.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
