One issue is that attendance for school is required, which makes those who don't like to learn develop more of a hatred towards it.

American standard test scores are in a bad spot. A idea though of for this, is the fact some students who don't want to go to school, don't put effort into it. By state laws they are forced to attend schooling, as to stick to the birth right to education. Many children just don't apply themselves, and we spend a lot of time having them learn just not to try. Instead have more enthusiastic students get the more time and better education ( Sipher 1).

The education of American students is in danger as proved by recent test results. This is due to the fact that students are feeling forced to come to school, without an intention to attend. These students are less inspired to learn, resulting in poor education. In America, education is gifted to all children, however, it is seen that they have no aspiration to learn (Sipher 1).

These scores have dropped drastically, symbolizing that American education has a big problem on their hands. The mandatory-attendance laws that are enforced in America, have caused and still are causing many students to be forced to attend school against their will. Some students are very happy to be attending school, while others would rather be anywhere else. These unhappy students are causing the highly engaged students to not gain the quality of education that all are allowed to have in America (Sipher 1).

This concern is forcing many of those to be mandated to attend school regardless of what they individually would have chosen. Because of the little desire children have to learn, the quality of education plays no part in this law in place to assist the troubling statistics (Sipher 1)

One cause of this problem is the law of mandatory attendance, that makes student attend school with no pride in being there. This causes these students to have no motivation to learn which results in not every student meeting the of quality education that they have the right to learn. (Sipher 1)

As the standardized test scores of American students decrease, concerns grow over the quality of U.S. education. A large cause of this is the mixture of students with and without motivation to be in school. Students who lack motivation are forced to attend school by U.S. law and policy. These students drag down the energy of other avid students to learn the material. Overall, this decreased the quality of education in America therefore decreasing the overall standardized test scores. (Sipher 1)
