<title>The Earth&#39;s climate has changed throughout history. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with the abrupt end of the last ice age about 7,000 years ago </title>

<title>The earth’s average temperature has gone up 1.4° F over the past century and is expected to rise as much as 11.5° F over the next. That might not seem like a lot, but the average temperature during the last Ice Age was about 4º F lower than it is today.</title>

<title>Global warming is a long-term rise in the average temperature of the Earth&#39;s climate system, an aspect of climate change shown by temperature measurements and by multiple effects of the warming.</title>

<title>Since 1978, a series of satellite instruments have measured the energy output of the Sun directly. The satellite data show a very slight drop in solar irradiance (which is a measure of the amount of energy the Sun gives off) over this time period. So the Sun doesn&#39;t appear to be responsible for the warming trend observed over the past several decades.</title>
